CURRENT OPENINGS:

Responsible for assisting the dermatologist-Moh’s surgeon and PAs in all clinical aspects of the practice. Prepares patients for consultation, examination, and surgery as applicable by taking patients’ medical history, educating them on their procedure(s) and alternative treatment options; answers/addresses questions or concerns in order to make a smooth, efficient transition for the physician to come in and begin the exam/procedure. Participates in a rotational schedule to document and return calls to patients with post-operative concerns/complications.
Candidates with Biologics, Mohs/General and Cosmetic Dermatology experience are encouraged to apply. Medical assistant certification is necessary. Experience with Clinical Trials a plus. Being Bilingual is a highly preferred skill for this position.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Sets up exam rooms for surgical procedures and assists all providers with surgical procedures.
- Turns over exam rooms by removing sharps, cleaning, and setting up for the next patient, and restocking rooms at the end of every day.
- Assists the Histotechnician in the lab as needed.
- Assists with cleaning and sterilizing all surgical instruments.
- Prepares and prints prescriptions or eprescribes.
- Document all aspects of a SOAP note efficiently and accurately and documents patient messages.
- Administers local anesthesia, performs suction & cauterizing as needed and cutting sutures.
- Bandaging, discharging patients and providing post-op instruction.
- Handles working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the highest quality of patient care.
Other Responsibilities:
- Working knowledge of how to properly use all office equipment (i.e. phone system, printers, copy machine, fax, scanner, etc.).
- Will be cross-trained in the lab and in other areas deemed necessary.

Duties:
- Schedule and coordinate appointments for patients in a medical setting
- Use EHR and phone systems to manage incoming and outgoing calls
- Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details
- Update and maintain patient records accurately
- Communicate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth scheduling process
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing any inquiries or concerns
- Follow established protocols and procedures for scheduling appointments
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a medical scheduler or in a similar role is preferred
- Familiarity with EHR (EMA) and phone systems used in medical settings
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
